
The Buffel Park Village Expansion is a critical infrastructure project for BHP, designed to increase accommodation capacity for its workforce in the Bowen Basin.
This project addresses the need for additional facilities to support mining operations, reduce reliance on third-party accommodations, and improve site efficiency.
The expansion includes:
208 additional standard accommodation rooms
4 Person with Disability (PWD) compliant rooms
4 new laundries
200 additional car parks
Upgraded security features, including CCTV and lighting
Installation of backup power generators
Buggy-accessible pathways
The project is strategically located 1 km from Caval Ridge Mine, approximately 24 km southwest of Moranbah, QLD, ensuring ease of access for mining personnel.

Oaka Construction QLD engaged MBD & Co Pty Ltd (MBD) to lead the RFQ submission for the Buffel Park Village Expansion – Construction Package under BHP’s Global Contract Management System (GCMS).
Our deep understanding of major mining procurement and engineering panel agreements ensured that Contractor’s submission was competitive, compliant, and aligned with BMA’s evaluation criteria.
